FIVE NEW YORK  MEMBERS OF CONGRESS ENDORSE RILEY

Momentum continues to build in race key to Democratic control of the House

ITHACA, N.Y. — Today, five Democratic members of Congress from across New York endorsed Josh Riley’s campaign for Congress in NY-19. The key endorsements come just weeks after Riley announced outraising incumbent Marc Molinaro in a second consecutive fundraising quarter, and amassing more than $1 million cash-on-hand.

Rep. Meeks (NY-05), Rep. Meng (NY-06), Rep. Morelle (NY-25), Rep. Ryan (NY-18) and Rep. Tonko (NY-20) released the following statements:

“We need Josh Riley in Congress. As an attorney, Josh helped low-income children gain access to healthcare. As Counsel in the US Senate, Josh helped craft bi-partisan legislation to protect domestic violence survivors and to provide more funding for law enforcement to combat the opioid epidemic,” said Rep. Greg Meeks. “Josh Riley will work with anyone to make progress for Upstate New Yorkers. I am honored to endorse his candidacy in NY-19.”

“From the courtroom to the campaign trail, Josh Riley is a champion for Democracy that we need in Congress. Josh will make voting rights a top priority and focus on issues concerning the needs of working families,” said Rep. Grace Meng. “I am proud to endorse Josh Riley in New York’s 19th Congressional District and look forward to working with him to secure victory.”

“I am proudly endorsing Josh Riley in New York’s 19th Congressional District,” said Rep. Joe Morelle. “Josh will fight relentlessly to protect democracy and uplift American voices to ensure equitable opportunities for all. I am eager to work with Josh in Congress to fight for Upstate New York in Washington.”

“I’ve worked and run alongside Josh Riley and witnessed his relentless dedication to Upstate New York firsthand,” said Rep. Pat Ryan. “Josh is fighting to protect a woman’s right to choose, keep our community safe from gun violence, and to create good-paying, union jobs that allow future generations to raise their own families in communities across the Hudson Valley and Southern Tier. Washington desperately needs, and New Yorkers deserve, leaders committed to protecting fundamental freedoms and delivering results. Josh Riley is that leader, and I am proud to endorse his campaign for Congress.”

“Josh Riley was born and raised in Upstate New York. He knows first hand the struggles our communities face because he and his family have experienced them alongside us,” said Rep. Paul Tonko. “Josh will be an independent, fierce advocate for the people of the 19th Congressional District and I know he will always put people over party politics. I am honored to endorse his candidacy for Congress.”
